    3. Hydrate between meals: In between meals, your body uses stored water to digest food. This process dehydrates you. You have to drink small amounts of water between meals to compensate for this because dehydration will decrease your metabolism. You see, a well hydrated body is a metabolically active body.

    4. Cut calories by very small amounts: Once your caloric intake is below 80% of your needs, your metabolism will come to a screeching halt. Your body will produce fat friendly enzymes and your thyroid will decrease its output.

    So if you think getting on a 1000-calorie diet is going to speed up fat loss, think again. This is very unhealthy and provides little benefit if at all.
